  • Treating and controlling bleeding.
  • Treating burns and scalds.
  • Treating injuries to bones, muscles and joints.
  • Treating minor injuries.
  • Treating shock.
  • Treating eye injuries and rinsing out eyes.
  • Understanding poisons, gases and fumes.
  • Moving injured people.
  • Recognising illness.
  • Simple record keeping, using the contents of the first aid. box and buying supplies.
  • Familiarisation of employers duties under the regulations.
