Training in Portable Electrical Appliances
TM 132
Organisational Scenario
Why is this course useful?
This programme is designed to develop and to certificate competence in the procedures and practices for testing portable electrical appliances as required by the regulations. The scope of this statutory requirement is deceptive appearing at first as a straightforward plug-in test procedure. However operatives performing this work will be required to achieve a high competence in understanding the circuitry of the range of equipments to be subjected to the mandatory testing procedures. The test instruments used produce a range of test signals, some at high voltage, and it is essential when meeting the regulations that every precaution is taken. This will include dismantling of some circuits (i.e. electronics, IT, facsimile machines etc), in order to avoid serious damage to expensive portable equipment under test.
This programme provides detailed practical instruction on avoiding these pitfalls.
